Hair Transplant Restoration
Hair Transplant Restoration Experts
Since foundation over 15 years ago, the hard working team of surgical professionals at NHI have advised thousands of both male and female patients about effective treatments for thinning and baldness. Our hair transplant restoration procedures employ the advanced and proven techniques of follicular unit extraction, follicular unit grafting, the lateral slit technique and others that can be performed in a short amount of time, heal rapidly and create a natural, youthful appearance without long term scarring. NHI can verify it achieves growth levels of between 90 and 100% for almost all of its follicular unit grafting patients, and is one of the few clinics to be able to give a written guarantee to every FUG patient.
At the NHI we perform natural looking, permanent hair transplant restoration by:
- Offering a free personal consultation to each patient about the most effective treatment options
- Providing and honouring hair transplant restoration quotes for up to six months
- Employing the latest technology such as stereoscopic microscopes when dissecting follicle grafts
- Providing excellent post-procedure care and advice about managing and maintaining the restored area of growth as well as the scalp as a whole.

Corrective Surgery
The NHI is often approached by patients who have had an older style hair transplant restoration at some point in the past and are not satisfied with their appearance. We are able to offer these patients a corrective surgery. Many clinics used to perform what is known as a punch-graft technique, in which the grafts which were transplanted were much larger than today’s technology allows. This resulted in a pluggy look that is unnatural. The NHI can remedy this by supplementing the existing transplant, placing new follicular units between them to balance out the density and packing to create a pleasing mass of natural looking growth. In some instances we may even decide to remove large grafts, dissect them into smaller units and replant them.
We are sometimes also approached by patients who have been in an accident at some point which has resulted in unusual scars or damage to healthy follicles. Depending on a patient’s history and the size of the area involved, we may be able to perform hair transplant restoration or a small scalp reduction, or a combination of the two.
What to consider before having a procedure
There are many factors to consider before committing to a hair transplant restoration procedure. The NHI can advise patients about the best way to achieve a natural looking growth with a minimum of fuss. We are more than happy to offer advice about:
- Cost and finance
- The benefits of both follicular unit grafting and follicular unit extraction
- What to expect both during and before a procedure
- How to maintain and manage your scalp both pre and post-procedure
A Brief History
Hair transplant restoration is a medical concept which has been around for many decades, and one that continues to develop and improve all the time. Dating back to the 1800s, modern transplant methods began to develop in 1930s Japan, before being ushered into the western world in the late 1950s. After research and experimentation proved follicles could successfully be grafted from one part of a person’s body to another while continuing to grow healthily, more and more advances were made in transplanting smaller and smaller ‘micrografts’ of growth. This has been followed up with the development of important surgical techniques for ensuring these grafts will behave naturally on a patient’s scalp. Today’s hair transplant restoration procedures are minimally invasive and can be conducted with little disruption to a patient’s lifestyle while ensuring satisfying results. The National Hair Institute conducts over 300 procedures a year and is committed to staying at the leading edge of hair transplant restoration technology.
